Norma B. Perales is the founding member of the Southeast Georgetown Community Council. She holds the following certifications: Professional Service Coordinator certification; Public Housing Specialist certification; Family Self Sufficiency Professional Service Coordinator certification; she is a trained Family and Parenting Instructor; as well as a Volunteer Trainer Specialist focusing on Cultural awareness and Domestic Violence issues. She owns and operates, as a consultant, an office in Georgetown, TX called Servicios Bilingues. She previously worked for the Georgetown Project as a Coalition Coordinator and the Georgetown Housing Authority as a Resident Services Coordinator. She has been a longtime advocate for the Boys & Girls Clubs and has served on numerous boards and committees.
I was born and raised in Georgetown, TX. I graduated from Georgetown High School in 2008. I have worked towards my Associates in Early Childhood Development from Kaplan University where I received an award for Deans List Honors. I also received a certificate of completion in Office Occupations from ACC in May of 2018. I have worked as an Educational Assistant for over 5 years teaching children ages infant- Pre-K.
I joined the SEGCC subgroup because I wanted to help my community who feel they don’t have a voice. I am currently the Community Liaison for said SEGCC- Southeast Georgetown Community Council.
Cinthia Medina is the Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director. She is a graduate of Eastview High School and a member and leader in the SEGCC subgroup. She holds a seat on the Animal Shelter Advisory Board, is fluently bilingual, and utilizes her skills to translate all of SEGCC's documents.
She is a notary public for the state of Texas; a certified Tax preparer recognized by the IRS; completed the Non-profits 101 Board intro course, and has become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) in order to assist SEGCC as needed.
